Board member responsabilities
President: The president must ensure the board is compiled and ensure its members fulfill their responsibilities, adhere to organizational policies, and work collaboratively to achieve the association’s objectives.
Vice president: Have a respectful and collaborative relationship with the president. They fill in when the president can’t attend important meetings with the Randwyck presidents, coordinators, or events. Moreover, they are in the head of a committee.
Secretary: Inform the board of any emails, updates, and information. Moreover, the secretary plans and sets the agenda. During the board meeting, they also take designated notes and ensure goals and events are met.
Head of Education: As a head of education, one will be responsible for every matter concerning the academic aspects of the BEPH program. They will attend the student council meetings, work closely with the course coordinators on improving and enhancing the program, and represent their fellow students in all academic matters, voicing their opinions.
Head of PR: AS Head of PR, one will be responsible for managing the association’s public image and communication. They will oversee social media accounts, promote events, and ensure clear and consistent messaging to students. Additionally, they will collaborate with other board members to enhance engagement and visibility, fostering a positive reputation for the association.
Treasurer: Must ensure the card is used for EUnitas events and ensure financial records are maintained and audited annually.
President
The president is the primary public face of the organization. Their role involves setting the overall strategic direction and ensuring that the group’s vision and values are clearly communicated and upheld. This involvement is demonstrated through planning major events, spearheading initiatives, and being actively engaged in community outreach.
The president also serves as the main channel of communication between the organization and external stakeholders. This includes engaging with partners, sponsors, and the broader community to foster relationships that support the group’s mission. The president is not only involved in high-level planning but also in the day-to-day activities that help build a strong, cohesive team.
Vice President
The Vice-President largely operates in a supportive position to the President. Should the president not be able to attend public functions to represent EUnitas/EPH, or should an extra face be appreciated, the VP should step up. In this role, one must have a strong understanding of the various facets of EUnitas (including finances) because you are an all-round support point. You must attend weekly board meetings as consistently as possible, check in with other board members, and look for organizational weaknesses that can be improved for the sake of EUnitas and its members.
For the association, you are a friendly face for internal members and should therefore be intentional about establishing connections with members. You will likely end up chairing one of the committees so you will need to ensure that you are prepared to organise weekly meetings, delegate tasks, and plan ahead for the growth of EUnitas. Ensuring compliance of general EUnitas members will also fall under your purview so ensure that you, alongside other board members, maintain a professional composure in all matters EUnitas.
Secretary
Access will be given to the EUnitas email account. This will be used to send emails to professors, and internal and external coordinators for events and Maastricht events. As secretary, it’s mandatory to meet with the finance department and the head coordinator of EPH. Additionally, the board should be informed of activities occurring and ensure the calendar is kept up to date. Moreover, with board meetings, you will take general notes and keep track of activities, committee events, and updates every week.
Head of Education
As Head of Education, you will be responsible for overseeing all academic-related matters within EUnitas. Your primary role is to represent students in discussions with faculty, ensuring that their feedback is heard and incorporated into the continuous improvement of the BEPH program. You will attend student council meetings, collaborate with course coordinators, and facilitate communication between students and faculty. Additionally, you will work closely with the evaluation panel to assess course quality, address student concerns, and suggest improvements. Regular meetings with the BEPH coordinator will be an essential part of your role, allowing you to stay updated on curriculum developments and relay important information to students. You will also participate in discussions regarding the minor period, ensuring that students are well-informed about their options and that any concerns about the process are addressed.
Beyond advocacy, you will lead the Education Committee in organizing various academic events and initiatives. These include the EPH Thesis Conference, Bachelor Open Days, and extracurricular workshops such as statistics sessions for first-year students. Your role involves coordinating event logistics, engaging with speakers, and ensuring that these initiatives contribute to students’ academic growth. By fostering a strong academic community, you will help create opportunities for students to develop their skills, expand their knowledge, and feel more connected to their studies. Your work will play a crucial role in maintaining the academic integrity of the program while enhancing the overall student experience.
Head of PR
As the Head of PR, your job is all about making sure the organization stays visible, engaging, and well-connected. You're the one behind the scenes, shaping how people see and interact with the group. Whether it’s running our social media accounts, promoting events, or sharing important updates, you’ll be responsible for keeping students, partners, and the wider community informed and excited about what we do.
You’ll work closely with the Marketing responsible to come up with creative ways to promote our events, boost engagement, and make sure our message reaches the right people. Whether it’s designing campaigns, creating content, or managing collaborations promotions and making sure our voice is heard. Beyond digital outreach, you’ll also connect with other student organizations, media outlets, and external partners to build relationships and explore opportunities to grow our network.
Being part of the board means staying in sync with the team, keeping everyone updated on PR efforts, and making sure our branding and messaging reflect who we are and what we stand for. Treasurer
As Treasurer of EUnitas, you are responsible for managing the organization’s finances and ensuring its financial sustainability. Your main role is to track income and expenses, oversee budgets, and make sure financial resources are allocated effectively across different initiatives. By maintaining accurate records and implementing sound financial practices, you help keep EUnitas running smoothly.
You will work closely with the FHML finance department, attending meetings to plan budgets, discuss financial strategies, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Beyond this, you will collaborate with other board members and committee heads to support their initiatives and make sure funding is distributed efficiently. Whether it’s handling reimbursements, managing sponsorship funds, or ensuring financial transparency, your role is essential in maintaining the stability and growth of the organization.
As Treasurer, you are not just responsible for numbers—you play an active role in shaping the future of EUnitas by making informed financial decisions that keep the association thriving.
